About Sanshin Martial Arts Karate Guelph

Sanshin Martial Arts is a member of the Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Association headed by grand master Hanshi Minoru Nakazato, 10th Dan, who currently resides in Okinawa, the birthplace of karate. In 2013, Minoru Nakazato was promoted by his father Shugoro Nakazato (1919-2016), one of the most influential karate grand masters of our time, to lead the
Shorinkan association.

In keeping with the teachings of our organization we instruct students in traditional Okinawan karate, striving to maintain its roots in their purest form. Kata has been passed down for centuries and instructors at Sanshin Martial Arts attend seminars throughout the year to ensure that we continue to maintain the integrity of the Shorin-Ryu style.
